In the very beginning Sernio’s journey was far off the acting road, a graduate of Chubb Institute, twice to be exact, once with a computer networking degree and the other with a technical support degree he began his life in information technology. But it would be his love of acting and the passion in his heart to follow his dream that would push the young Sernio onto the acting lane. Jersey City native, Joe currently resides in Belmar and has lived in Howell and Jackson. He started attending acting school in 2002 while working for Marc Echo (the hip hop clothing line inspired by “50 Cent”) in New York. He attended the Ted Bardy Studio for Dramatic Arts and then went on to study under various private coaches including Bob McAndrew, who has coached actors like Christopher Walken, Sela Ward, Richard Dreyfuss, and Tom Selleck to name a few. Joe Sernio has a malleable mug. He could be the boy next door who everyone’s mother wants her daughter to marry, or the cold blooded villain honing in on his next target.

In fact, Sernio has played both, appearing in Bentley Diamond Importers commercials and also preparing for his next role in the mob thriller “Lime Vegas,” some of which will be filmed in Asbury Park..”People are always coming up to me asking how I got so much work so fast,” the 25-year-old actor said. “It usually takes about five or 10 years or so of bit parts to establish yourself in the industry, but I jumped right into acting and I’ve been doing it ever since.” [Read more...]
